How Does a Spring Terminal Block Work?

2025-03-07

The working principle of spring terminals can be simply summarized as mainly relying on the elastic deformation and restoring force of the spring. This type of terminal consists of a shell, a spring sheet, and a contact piece. When the wire needs to be connected, the wire is inserted into the hole of the terminal, and the wire presses the spring sheet, causing the spring sheet to deform elastically and tightly clamp the wire. Because the spring sheet has a certain elastic coefficient, it can provide sufficient contact pressure while clamping the wire to achieve a good electrical connection.

During the connection process, the elastic deformation of the spring sheet forms a close contact between the wire and the contact piece, reducing the contact resistance and improving the conductivity. Even when subjected to certain external forces such as vibration, impact or pulling, the elastic restoring force of the spring sheet can keep the connection between the wire and the contact piece stable and not easy to loosen or fall off.

Moreover, spring terminals usually have an adjustable clamping force. By adjusting the structure of the spring sheet or using an adjustment device, the size of the clamping force can be adjusted according to the specifications and materials of different wires to meet various connection requirements, further improve the reliability and stability of the connection, and make this type of terminal widely used in the field of electrical connection, which is an important guarantee for the stable operation of the circuit.
